Dear Family and Friends,

I was moved to work for Southeast Asia Resource Action Center in 2018 after seeing the state of this country and feeling helpless. I knew I had to help fight for a better tomorrow for my kids.

The last 3.5 years have seen emotional highs and lows, but my pride in SEARAC's commitment to refugee and immigrant communities remains steadfast. As the national voice of Southeast Asian Americans (SEAAs), SEARAC leads the way in advocating for our communities’ right to to be seen, to heal, and to family. I believe in our mission so much that I myself am a SEARAC donor. In just the last year, I have been part of a team that has:

  • Uplifted SEAA voices in a historic meeting with President Biden and Vice President Harris
  • Developed in-language resources on COVID vaccines to combat disinformation
  • Trained and empowered rising SEAA leaders to advocate with members of Congress
  • Launched a groundbreaking mental health policy report focused on the SEAA community with community-based solutions and concrete recommendations for policymakers
  • Produced a robust series of public service announcements featuring five impacted community members sharing their stories, their hopes for the future, and their call to action for us to join the fight to end deportations.

(Learn more about our work here.)

We are a small (and growing!) organization of 11 staffers and can use all your help in continuing to raise refugee and immigrant voices so that policymakers, the public, and the media hear our stories. Together we can fight for the health, wellbeing, and economic security of Southeast Asian Americans.

Will you join me?
