Dear friends and family,
I have the honor of fundraising for the Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC).
Since 1975, SEARAC has been building a road map for a better future. As the national voice of Southeast Asian Americans - the largest community of refugees to ever be resettled in the United States - SEARAC leads the way in advocating for our communities’ right to to be seen, to heal, and to family. As the child of refugee immigrants, SEARAC's mission is near and dear to my heart.
I am privileged to be a part of this small but mighty team and am deeply proud of what we've been able to accomplish during these challenging times, including:
- Developing in-language resources on COVID vaccines to combat disinformation for vulnerable communities
- Training and empowering rising SEAA leaders to advocate with members of Congress during our Digital Advocacy Training
- Launching a historic mental health policy report focused on the SEAA community with community-based solutions and concrete recommendations for policymakers
- Producing a robust series of public service announcements featuring five impacted community members sharing their stories, their hopes for the future, and their call to action for us to join the fight to end deportations.
