As we approach the end of another year living under a global pandemic, I wanted to share with you one of the bright spots of 2022 and invite you to join me in a movement for Southeast Asian American community resilience. As the [JOB TITLE] for the Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC), you have probably heard me talk about the incredible policy advocacy and leadership development work that my organization has been a part of. Our movement to build equity for Southeast Asian Americans and all immigrant and refugee communities gives me hope, even when global and political events feel overwhelming.

This year, SEARAC has played a vital role in our communities’ right to to be seen, our right to heal, and our right to family. We have introduced legislation that would halt the deportations of our friends and neighbors; we have spoken to hundreds of community members across the state of California about their mental health concerns and hopes. We’ve been to the White House to share our histories and heritage, and we’ve uplifted the stories of Southeast Asian Americans whose lives have been impacted by detention and deportation. As we approach 2023, I would like to invite you to be a part of this moment and this movement by making a gift to SEARAC’s end-of-year fundraising campaign.
