Support immigrant and refugee communities nationwide
As SEARAC's Board Treasurer, my hope is that every year, we will continue to inspire and create more leaders who will uplift our community’s stories, build collective power, and work together to create a socially just and equitable society.
With your partnership, SEARAC is supporting future generations of Southeast Asian Americans. We are developing a leadership pipeline of advocates who demand better data on SEAA student needs and outcomes, culturally and linguistically appropriate health care, and an end to unjust immigration policies.
Highlights from the past year include:
- Launching our new 2023-24 Equity Agenda, which highlights the needs of Southeast Asian American communities, based on interviews with more than 30 community-based organizations across the country
- Returning to in-person programming for the first time since 2019, including our flagship Leadership and Advocacy Training Program in Washington, DC
- Releasing our new report on Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and Southeast Asian American youth mental health, "Voices Unheard: Uncovering the Mental Health Impact of COVID-19 on Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander and Southeast Asian American Youth"
- Advocating for disaggregated race and ethnicity data that allows Southeast Asian American identities to be fully seen
- Launching a brand new website for our work with the SEAA Collaborative in California
- Reintroducing the Southeast Asian Deportation Relief Act (SEADRA) into Congress, a groundbreaking bill that protects our communities' right to family
As the national voice of Southeast Asian Americans, SEARAC leads the way in advocating for our communities’ right to to be seen, to heal, and to family. We need your support to continue this essential work in our communities, in the halls of Congress, and in the media. Together we can fight for the health, wellbeing, and economic security of Southeast Asian Americans. Donate today to support Southeast Asian American community resilience in 2023 and beyond. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
In community,
Anthony, Jane, Aiden, and Aaron
